AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS, Des Moines, Iowa (1992-1994)
        Microcomputer Department Chairperson: Participated in College committees relevant to
departmental functions and assessment activities. Facilitated academic department advisory committee made
up of persons from the business community for the purposes of curriculum development and enhancement.
Microcomputer and Business Instructor: Acted as sponsor of the AIB Chapter of AITP with
responsibility for overseeing the production of the Des Moines Chapter’s monthly newsletter in Pagemaker by
AIB students. Provided support, training, and supervision for students staffing the college’s computer labs.
Represented faculty views on the Network User’s committee. Maintained contact in the business community
for the purpose of furthering relationships with organizations engaged in hiring AIB graduates. Developed and
continued to coordinate the Student of the Quarter Luncheon, honoring students for outstanding academic
achievement on a quarterly basis. Organized and executed field trips and invited guest speakers from the
business community to give students a taste of the “real world”. Sponsored students for various scholarships,
including ASM and AITP. Developed an expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint and designed and made
presentations on and off-campus to both international and national organizations on the usage of this powerful
application, including a presentation to an audience of over 200 participants at the Des Moines Convention
Center.

Project Manager: Responsible for overview of all lending functions and scheduling and analysis of
conversion. Reported to Vice President of MIS.
Lending Team Leader: Managed six to eight programmer analysts in support of mortgage-related
lending functions. Reported to the MIS Supervisor. Completed numerous courses in the Financial Education
series.

INTERSTATE ASSURANCE LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY, Des Moines, Iowa (1983-1985)
Senior Programmer Analyst: Supported team-based conversion of Life system to new IBM system
under LIFE/70. Responsible for online agent quotation programs for the Universal Life product. Completed
courses in LOMA.

Programmer Analyst: Assisted client organizations, many of whom had no previous computer
